2026 Silverstone South Annual Halloween House Decorating Contest —-REGISTRATION IS OPEN 

Bragging rights are up for grabs this year for the best-decorated house for Halloween in  Silverstone South! 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winning houses will receive a yard sign to keep and display.

Residents who decorate their homes/yards for Halloween are invited to participate in the Annual Halloween House Decorating Contest. 

Please fill out the registration form by October 25th. Free to participate and winners will be announced October 31st. Online voting will be open from Oct 26th through October 30th.  The voting link will be emailed on October 26th. 

Rules & Participation Information

• Entry is limited to Silverstone South residents/homes only.  

• All city ordinances, including the noise ordinance, must be followed.

• Keep your decorations PG-13.

• Live animals and people cannot be part of your display. 

• Community guidelines and rules must be followed.  (e.g.:  no vehicles on lawn, no overgrown lawns, etc.) 

• Entry addresses will be published on the Facebook community page to allow community members to locate the houses participating in the contest.

• Voting will happen with a community vote. Voting will open October 26th. One vote per household.

• 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winning houses will receive a yard sign and bragging rights.

Judging Criteria: 

Judging will take place online with the residents voting for their favorite. Judging should be based on “curb appeal” as viewed from the sidewalk only. Community members will not leave the sidewalk to view the houses who are competing.  Therefore only those decorations located on the street side of the property will be judged (corner lots will be judged from the front of the house). Community members will not enter the property to view back or side yards. Online voting will be open from Oct 26th through October 30th.

• Story line or theme.

• Display and placement of decorations, objects, etc.

• Overall presentation.
